This is a set of psychometric parameters and instructions for the 17 instruments.
Tools included in the set concern four categories of constructs determining health-related behaviors:
A – individual predispositions: A/B type behaviors, anger expression, emotional control, dispositional optimism;
B – beliefs and expectations: locus of health control, self-efficacy;
C – health behaviors and health evaluation;
D – struggling with the disease: patient's expectations, beliefs about pain control, strategies for coping with pain, acceptance of the disease, adaptation to cancer disease.
Tools included in the NPPPZ set:

All the instruments are “paper-and-pencil”, self-report instruments. They are short scales and questionnaires, easy to use. Subjects enter their answers on answer sheets.
Materials:
- Kit (manual, answer sheets for 17 tests, 25 copies per test)
- Manual
- Answer sheets for 17 tests (25 copies per test)
Questionnaires and scales can be used for scientific (research) and diagnostic (practical) purposes. Some of the tools can be used for screening. They can be applied not only by psychologists and can be particularly useful for doctors, sociologists, educators and other specialists involved in health promotion, health education, prevention and therapy.
Reliability
In most cases, internal consistency was assessed using the Cronbach alpha factor. Sporadically, compliance was assessed using the half-way method (even-odd positions). In justified cases, the stability of results was also determined by the test-retest method. Retesting was generally carried out after six weeks.
Validity
Diagnostic validity was determined by correlating the results of a given tool with an external criterion (usually another test) measuring similar properties, used at the same time as the tool from the NPPPZ set. On the other hand, the correlation of the scores by a given tool with an external criterion applied after a certain period of time (e.g. with a medical assessment) was a measure of prognostic validity.
Norms
Standard ten norms for general samples; means for a variety of clinical groups.
