The INTE measures emotional intelligence understood as the ability to recognise, understood and control emotions – one’s own or other people’s – and the ability to use one’s emotions effectively in the management of one’s own activity or the activity of other people.

The second edition of the manual contains norms developed in 2005 and data on the reliability of the tool. Information on the validity of the Polish version of INTE has been significantly enriched with the results of many different studies conducted with the use of this tool. A novelty of this edition is the creation of the possibility of separately taking into account its two components when assessing emotional intelligence: the ability to use emotions and the ability to recognize emotions (s-ten norms). The theoretical introduction has also been significantly expanded, supplemented with new knowledge accumulated in recent years. The INTE questionnaire itself remained unchanged.

The INTE consists of 33 self-report items which the subject rates on a five-point rating scale.
