SPR-2 – Parents and youngsters
DESCRIPTION: The SPR-2 questionnaire is based on the same theoretical foundation as its original version, the Parental Attitudes Scale SPR. The present tool is an abbreviation of the SPR, allowing to examine young people in a more efficient and economical way. The number of items included in the original version was 75, whereas in the new abbreviated version it is only 45. The test consists of five scales referring to five parental attitides: accepting-rejecting, overdemanding, autonomous, inconsistent and overprotective.
RELIABILITY: The Cronbach alphas for each dimension of parental attitudes both in the general sample and in the sub-groups were over .80 which indicates that the measurement of all 5 parental attitudes is highly reliable.
NORMS: s-ten norms developped using the research sample of a few thousand respondents; gender specific for parents and gender and age specific for children.
APPLICABILITY: for family and educational psychology experts and in a research context.
