Questionnaires for depression assessment in children and adolescents CDI-2 will soon be available for purchase

2016-02-23

CDI-2 is a complete set of diagnostic tools which allow a thorough assessment of depression symptoms in children aged 7-18. CDI-2 describes the child from three different perspectives: his/her own, that of a parent (or guardian) and a teacher.

  • Self-description version consists of 28 items and each item includes three sentences among which the test-taker should choose one that describes him/her best. The administration time is between 10 and 15 minutes. This version allows to calculate the overall score as well as scores in scales and subscales.
  • Short self-description version consists of 12 items each of which includes again three sentences and a test-taker chooses one that describes him/her best. The administration time is about 5 minutes. This version allows to calculate the overall index of the intensity of depressive symptoms.
  • Parent version consists of 17 items which a parent answers using a 4-grade scale. The administration time is between 5 and 10 minutes. This version allows to calculate the overall score as well as scores in the scales Emotional Difficulties and Functioning Difficulties.
  • Teacher version consists of 12 items and its administration time is about 5 minutes. It allows to calculate the overall score as well as scores in the scales Emotional Difficulties and Functioning Difficulties.

CDI-2 has separate norms for each gender as well as unigender ones; norms for ages 7-12 and 13-18; separate norms for each version (S, P, T) developped with the use of quota samples consisting of about 1000 respondents (almost 3000 respondents in total).

CDI-2 can help to identify children and adolescents suffering of depressive symptoms thanks to the high index of range and intensity of depressive symptoms it provides. Together with other sources these tools can help in the early identification of children and teenagers liable to depression as well as in monitoring therapy outcomes.

The CDI-2 questionnaires will be available for purchase in mid-2016.
