Questionnaire designed to assess temperament understood according to Pavlov's conception and being the new version of the tool known as Temperament Questionnaire KT by Strelau.

DESCRIPTION: The questionnaire includes 57 statements the correctness of which – in regards to himself/herself – an examinee is supposed to rate on a 4-grades scale (from "I definitely agree” to "I definitely disagreee”). The items make up three basic scales: Force of the Stimulation Process (SPP), Force of the Inhibition Process (SPH) and  Mobility of Nervous Impulses (RPP). Moreover, the balance of nervous processes is defined as the SPP-SPH ratio.

RELIABILITY:  satisfactory internal consistency and stability

VALIDITY: demonstrated by the correlation of the PTS scores with scores on other temperament and personality measures, by the research on genetic conditions of features measured on the PTS and by factor analyses.

NORMS:  s-ten norms for six age groups (15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-80 years) gender specific and based on the study using the sample of over 4000 persons.

APPLICABILITY: for research and practical purposes esp. in professional (selection) and educational counselling; it allows most of all to predict the functioning of examinees in difficult situations.
