Last week we were visited by Gražina Gintilienė who represented the Department of Psychology at the University of Vilnius. Our co-operation with the University has already lasted for a few years. The University co-ordinated the process of the Lithuania adaptation of Children's Development Scale DSR and two of our colleagues Diana Fecenec and Joanna Stanczak delivered lectures on creation and adaptation of psychological tests, copyright  observance as well as rules for the appropriate selection of diagnostic tools.

The  3rd Cracow Diagnostic Conference – “New Methods for Diagnosing Children and Adolescents” is over. The event was organized by the Cracow Section of the Polish Psychological Association and the Institute of Applied Psychology at the Jagiellonian University.

Last week we were visited by the representatives of the biggest Croatian test publisher Naklada Slap, Krunoslav and Biserka Matešić. Naklada is also a member of the ETPG group. Thanks to magnificent weather the meeting could be followed by the walk in Łazienki Park.

Thank you for the visit!

The annual meeting of the ETPG, or European Test Publishers Group, took place on 10-12 May. This time we met in Vienna, in the Steinsberger Hotel located in the city's historic centre. The Laboratory was, as usual, represented by Aleksandra Jaworowska and Joanna Stańczak. The main topic of this year's discussions was the future of ETPG.

It was last week (16-17 March 2017) that the conference “Contemporary diagnostic practice – achievements and challenges” took place co-organized by the Academic Centre for Psychotherapy and Development and SWPS University. This is another event belonging to the cycle “Diagnosis in Psychological Practice”.  The conference was held under the patronage of National Section for Diagnosis of the Polish Psychological Association and the Laboratoty was one of its sponsors.

Intelligence and Development Scales for Children Aged 5-10 were published by the Laboratory in 2013. For the three subsequent years popularity of the tool has grown and now we can say that it is commonly used by the psychologists who diagnose chilldren of early pre-school age.  What undoubtly helped to popularize IDS was numerous training sessions organized throughout Poland by the Authors of the Polish adaptation in which participated approx. 1000 psychologists.

We have just finished the training for the participants of the normalization research for International Performance Scale Leiter-3. During the last four weeks there was about 90 people who participated in the training sessions. Until the end of April 2017 they carry out the normalization research.

It was our second visit at the University of Vilnius which once more invited us to deliver lectures within the framework of the European Erasmus + programme.

This time it was Joanna Stanczak who came to Lithuania to meet students and researchers in Vilnius. The lectures she delivered were devoted to creation and adaptation of psychological tests, copyright  observance as well as rules for the appropriate selection of diagnostic tools in relation to the examination purpose. The audience was also interested in the Laboratory itself, its history and mission as well as everyday functioning.

This is another stage of our co-operation with the Vilnius psychologists. The first stage was Lithuanian adaptation of the Children's Development Scale DSR. In 2015 our colleague Diana Fecenec was invited as a lecturer to Vilnius.

It is a pleasure for us to inform that the Coucil of Europe formally recommends the book Wybrane zagadnienia diagnozy psychologicznej dzieci i młodzieży w kontekście wielokulturowości oraz wielojęzyczności  (Problems of the psychological assessment of children and adolescents in the multicultural and multilingual context) as an example of best practices. The book was published by the Centre for the Development of Education working for the Ministry of Education.

The second national conference “Science and management” organized by the Chair of Work and Organization Psychology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań will be held under Laboratory's patronage. The aim of the conference is to create common space for the exchange of knowledge and experience between academic researchers and practitioners in business and management.
