MMPI®-2. THE MINNESOTA MULTIPHASIC PERSONALITY INVENTORY®-2
Description: MMPI®-2 is a self-descriptive personality inventory. The examinee takes a stance on 567 statements concerning various behaviors and beliefs. Results can be expressed in 121 scales, including control and clinical scales.
Reliability: Good indices of the absolute stability and, in regard to most scales, satisfactory indices of the internal consistency.
Validity: Correlations of MMPI®-2 scales with other personality measures (EPQ-R, IVE, STAI, ACL, KPD) as well as a juxtaposition of results obtained by persons from various clinical groups enabled to confirm the diagnostic meaning of most scales.
Norms: T score, for men and women separately.
Applications: MMPI®-2 is used first of all in clinical diagnosis to assess personality and psychical disorders (hypochondriasis, depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, paranoia et al.). Also used non-clinically (screening of job candidates, university recruitment, army enlistment).
