25th ETPG meeting in Oxford

2015-07-03

The 25th conference of the ETPG, or European Tests Publishers Group took place on 24-26 July 2015. The conference venue was Oxford, UK and, more precisely, Merton College, one of the oldest – built in 1264 – and most beautiful among the University of Oxford buildings. The Laboratory was represented by Aleksandra Jaworowska and Joanna Stańczak.

The leading theme of this year's jubilee meeting was ETPG: past, present and future. The Group achievements over the past 25 years were discussed and the key area of its present activities was pointed out, namely intellectual property and copyright security. The issue of technological progress and its impact on the future of psychological tests was also discussed.

The significant event was the jubilee discussion panel gathering the ETPG founders and first members: Tim Cornford, Jaime Perena, Mick Jackson and Jürgen Hogrefe.

The meeting agenda was rather tight but there was also time for sightseeing and after hours group integration. The publisher Hogrefe which recently opened its branch in Oxford invited all guests for a small reception there. The trip in traditional English boats on the river Cherwell was also organized.

The next year's meeting will be held in Cracow and hosted by the Laboratory.
